                       Microsoft says that the new Windows Phone 8 Skype app adds a feature that many IM users have been waiting on for a while: the ability to copy and paste chat messages. Microsoft says, "You can now press and hold an IM message, select copy and paste it to where you need it."

The new version also is supposed to speed up the load time when users start the Skype app from the Windows Phone live tile. Finally, the app now has a high contrast mode which is enabled when a Windows Phone display is also set to high contrast.

Microsoft recently announced it has stopped supporting the Windows Phone 7 Skype app in favor of developing the current Windows Phone 8 version. Microsoft's Skype product manager Jeff Kunins hinted in a recent interview that the company also has "a lot of fun things" planned for the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 version of Skype, which is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
